Roles and Responsibilities:

UCS Manager, Director & Orchestration Job Responsibilities:

UCS Manager Administrator
L2 Layer - Responsibilities and Duties:
Create server pools and policies related to those pools, including (Server, network & Storage)
Create service profiles and, service profile templates
Create & configure uplink ports, port channels, VLANs and LAN PIN groups
Create & configure ports, port channels, VSANs and SAN PIN groups
L3 Layer - Responsibilities and Duties:
Provide Level-3 support for Cisco UCS Manager (Including Cluster), troubleshooting and problem resolution
Extensive experience with datacenter solutions architectural understanding using technologies including networking, storage, and virtualization.

  • Candidate should have a working experience on the following key policies and profiles which comes handy from operational point of view:

Sever Side: Qualification policies, discovery policies, Crub policies, and IPMI policies
Network Side: MAC address pools and Ethernet adapter profiles
Storage Side: WWN pools and Fibre Channel adapter profiles
Monitor faults, alarms, and the status of equipment

UCS Director Administrator
Minimum Criteria: - 5+ Years of UCS Manager implementation experience.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Install, configure and manage Cisco UCS Director 5.x & up
Configuring UCS Manager using UCS Director
Virtual and Physical Account Management
Configure Virtual Data Centers, Policies, Catalogs and Tenancy Models in UCS Director
Implementing User Onboarding with Secure Multi Tenancy
Experience with Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM) Integration for Compute, Storage & Networking modules
Create and Monitor Service Requests for Provisioning
Define Workflows using Orchestration
Create UCS Director Policies, VDCs, and Catalogs for Physical Compute, netowrk & storage Policies
Monitor faults, alarms, and the status of equipment

Orchestration Administrator:
Cisco UCS Director REST API -
  • Create and list catalogs & Service containers.
  • Create a service container using the chosen catalog for self-provisioning the service/workflow on the service container.
Experience with UCS Director SDK
Managing Groups, users, catalog, workflow orchestration, APIC policies, MSP, service containers.
Good to have experience with automation software in order to optimize efficiency (e.g., Orchestrate , Puppet, cfengine, Chef, Python)
Note: L3 Support - 5+ Years of UCS Manager implementation experience, 2+ Years of UCS Director & 1 year of Director Orchestration is preferred
